Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled; and Untitled by Joan Nelson was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2006, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,600.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,560.00 (€ 1,308.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Joan Nelson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled #196 in November 2004 with an auction result of USD 19,120.00 (€ 14,420.39).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled; and Untitled von Joan Nelson im Februar 2006 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.600,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.560,00 (€ 1.308,18) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Joan Nelson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled #196 im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 19.120,00 (€ 14.420,39).
