Auction result well in line with expectations
The work O Singapore, Your Fair Shore, Your Garlands, Your GNP by Jimmy Ong was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2011. The price achieved of HKD 81,250.00 (€ 7,772.89) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 50,000.00 – 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jimmy Ong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nelli'S Dowry, which sold at auction in April 2008 for HKD 223,500.00 (€ 18,419.23).
