Auction result well in line with expectations
The work (I) A Study Of Figures (Ii) A Sketch Of Figures by Jimmy Ong was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 35,000.00 (€ 4,044.97) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jimmy Ong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nelli'S Dowry in April 2008 with an auction result of HKD 223,500.00 (€ 18,419.23).
