Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Waterbowl by Jimmy Ong was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2015. The price achieved of HKD 62,500.00 (€ 7,301.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jimmy Ong - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nelli'S Dowry, which sold at auction in April 2008 for HKD 223,500.00 (€ 18,419.23).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Waterbowl von Jimmy Ong wurde im Oktober 2015 in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 62.500,00 (€ 7.301,67) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jimmy Ong mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nelli'S Dowry beobachtet, die im April 2008 für HKD 223.500,00 (€ 18.419,23) versteigert wurde.
