This artwork by Jimmy Ong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2008. In the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction, the work Nelli'S Dowry sold for HKD 223,500.00 (€ 18,419.23) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 75,000.00. This high result makes Nelli'S Dowry the most expensive artwork by Jimmy Ong that we have observed at auctions so far.
