Auction result misses estimated price range

This work of art by Janet Fish could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Contemporary Curated auction, the work Grapefruit changed hands for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,801.42) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Janet Fish achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Five Bertolli Bottles in July last year with an auction result of USD 239,400.00 (€ 234,659.87).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Dieses Kunstwerk von Janet Fish konnte im März 2015 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated wechselte die Arbeit Grapefruit für USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.801,42) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Janet Fish erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Five Bertolli Bottles im Juli letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 239.400,00 (€ 234.659,87).
