Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Janet Fish achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in September 2021. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California auction, the work Ice Cream Sundae, 2004 sold for USD 106,562.50 (€ 92,046.73) - well above the upper estimate of USD 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Janet Fish - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Five Bertolli Bottles, which sold at auction in July last year for USD 239,400.00 (€ 234,659.87).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Janet Fish erzielte im September 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art X Made in California wurde die Arbeit Ice Cream Sundae, 2004 für USD 106.562,50 (€ 92.046,73) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Janet Fish mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Five Bertolli Bottles beobachtet, die im Juli letzten Jahres für USD 239.400,00 (€ 234.659,87) versteigert wurde.
