Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale, which included the work Portret Van Miss J. Pontifex Hall (Portrait Of Miss J. Pontifex Hall) by Jan Toorop. The price achieved of GBP 68,750.00 (€ 77,699.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Toorop achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portret van mevrouw M.J. de Lange - Portrait of Mrs M.J. de Lange in November 2005 with an auction result of EUR 818,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portret Van Miss J. Pontifex Hall (Portrait Of Miss J. Pontifex Hall) von Jan Toorop zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 68.750,00 (€ 77.699,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Toorop erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portret van mevrouw M.J. de Lange - Portrait of Mrs M.J. de Lange im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 818.400,00.
