Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction European & British Art, which included the work Madonna with Child by Jan Toorop. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,772.00 (€ 3,306.41) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Toorop achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portret van mevrouw M.J. de Lange - Portrait of Mrs M.J. de Lange in November 2005 with an auction result of EUR 818,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion European & British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Madonna with Child von Jan Toorop zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 2.772,00 (€ 3.306,41) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Toorop erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portret van mevrouw M.J. de Lange - Portrait of Mrs M.J. de Lange im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 818.400,00.
