The work Figure No. 116 by Jan Lebenstein was sold in the Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2019. The »bidding war« ended at USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,089.43), 50% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jan Lebenstein; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Figure Xviii sold at auction in June 2021 with the realized price of EUR 87,500.00.

Die Arbeit Figure No. 116 von Jan Lebenstein wurde im Mai 2019 in der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 47.089,43) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Jan Lebenstein; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Figure Xviii im Juni 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 87.500,00.
