Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Jan Lebenstein achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2021. In the Impressionist & Modern Art auction, the work Figure no. 161 sold for USD 37,800.00 (€ 32,650.95) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Lebenstein - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Figure Xviii, which sold at auction in June 2021 for EUR 87,500.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Lebenstein erzielte im September 2021 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Impressionist & Modern Art wurde die Arbeit Figure no. 161 für USD 37.800,00 (€ 32.650,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Lebenstein mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Figure Xviii beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für EUR 87.500,00 versteigert wurde.
