Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study for Wild Boar by Jan Lebenstein was sold in the Modern Discoveries auction at Sothebys in New York in March last year. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,764.00 (€ 1,590.19) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Lebenstein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Figure Xviii in June 2021 with an auction result of EUR 87,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study for Wild Boar von Jan Lebenstein wurde im März letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern Discoveries bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.764,00 (€ 1.590,19) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Lebenstein erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Figure Xviii im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 87.500,00.
