It achieved a price of GBP 250,000.00 (€ 290,167.44), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 25%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Lee Byars - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Figure of Death, which sold at auction in May 2015 for USD 761,000.00 (€ 692,195.74).
