Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by James Bishop was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2018. The price achieved of USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,487.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Bishop achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work For Viola Farber in October 2017 with an auction result of EUR 295,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von James Bishop kam im November 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.487,50) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Bishop erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit For Viola Farber im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 295.500,00.
