In September 2007 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work The Viola Player by Jack Levine. The »bidding war« ended at USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,186.58), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Jack Levine have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Princess in December 2011 with an auction result of USD 86,500.00 (€ 66,676.94).

Im September 2007 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Viola Player von Jack Levine zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.186,58) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jack Levine auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Princess im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 86.500,00 (€ 66.676,94).
