Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Jack Goldstein was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 81,250.00 (€ 65,949.68). Admittedly, works by Jack Goldstein have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in November 2012 with an auction result of USD 782,500.00 (€ 601,460.42).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Jack Goldstein im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 81.250,00 (€ 65.949,68) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jack Goldstein auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 782.500,00 (€ 601.460,42).
