A top price for Ivan Tovar
When the work La Menace by Ivan Tovar was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2020, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 40,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at USD 250,000.00 (€ 225,265.81). This high result makes La Menace the most expensive artwork by Ivan Tovar that we have observed at auctions so far.
