Description
IVAN NAVARRO (B. 1972) Degenerate neon, plywood, plexiglass, mirror, one-way mirror, fluorescent lightbulbs and electrical hardware 33 × 33 × 7 in. (83.8 × 83.8 × 17.8 cm ) Executed in 2011. This work is the artist's proof from an edition of three plus one artist's proof.
Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Degenerate by Iván Navarro was auctioned at Christies in New York in December last year. The price achieved of USD 22,680.00 (€ 21,200.22) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Iván Navarro have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shortcut in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 161,000.00 (€ 123,960.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Degenerate von Iván Navarro kam im Dezember letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 22.680,00 (€ 21.200,22) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Iván Navarro auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shortcut im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 161.000,00 (€ 123.960,58).
