Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Mortality by Isamu Noguchi. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,109,000.00 (€ 909,463.67) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00. Admittedly, works by Isamu Noguchi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Garden Elements in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 4,727,500.00 (€ 4,207,458.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mortality von Isamu Noguchi zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.109.000,00 (€ 909.463,67) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Isamu Noguchi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Garden Elements im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 4.727.500,00 (€ 4.207.458,17).
