Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2002 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction THE DR ANTON C.R. DREESMANN COLLECTION: DUTCH PICTURES & WOA, which included the work The Singel, Amsterdam, with the Munttoren by Isaac Ouwater. The price achieved of EUR 52,875.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 45,000.00 – 75,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Isaac Ouwater - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Amsterdam: The 't Spaarne canal in Slooterdijk with the ferry office and the tollgate on the left hand side, which sold at auction in May 2003 for EUR 164,450.00.
