Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Townscape With Figures Outside A Civic Guard House by Isaac Ouwater was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,499.44). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isaac Ouwater achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Amsterdam: The 't Spaarne canal in Slooterdijk with the ferry office and the tollgate on the left hand side in May 2003 with an auction result of EUR 164,450.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Townscape With Figures Outside A Civic Guard House von Isaac Ouwater im Dezember 2016 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 9.499,44) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Isaac Ouwater erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Amsterdam: The 't Spaarne canal in Slooterdijk with the ferry office and the tollgate on the left hand side im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 164.450,00.
