Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Keetpoort En Oost And Kaaipoort, Edam; And Purmer And Monnikendammerpoort, Edam With The Kwakelbrug With The Spire Of The Onze-Lieve-Vrouwe-Kerk Beyond by Isaac Ouwater was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,500.00 (€ 36,573.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Isaac Ouwater have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Amsterdam: The 't Spaarne canal in Slooterdijk with the ferry office and the tollgate on the left hand side in May 2003 with an auction result of EUR 164,450.00.

Die Arbeit The Keetpoort En Oost And Kaaipoort, Edam; And Purmer And Monnikendammerpoort, Edam With The Kwakelbrug With The Spire Of The Onze-Lieve-Vrouwe-Kerk Beyond von Isaac Ouwater kam im Dezember 2017 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 32.500,00 (€ 36.573,99) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Isaac Ouwater auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Amsterdam: The 't Spaarne canal in Slooterdijk with the ferry office and the tollgate on the left hand side im Mai 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 164.450,00.
