Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Isaac Ouwater achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2011. In the Old Masters and 19th Century Art auction, the work A view of the Overtoom, Amsterdam, in winter, with the Kostverloren Wetering to the left and the Overtoomse Vaart to the right; and A view of the Polderhuis by the Weteringpoort, in summer, with the slipway (overhaal) between the Boerenwetering and t sold for EUR 133,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 50,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Isaac Ouwater; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Amsterdam: The 't Spaarne canal in Slooterdijk with the ferry office and the tollgate on the left hand side sold at auction in May 2003 with the realized price of EUR 164,450.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Isaac Ouwater erzielte im November 2011 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters and 19th Century Art wurde die Arbeit A view of the Overtoom, Amsterdam, in winter, with the Kostverloren Wetering to the left and the Overtoomse Vaart to the right; and A view of the Polderhuis by the Weteringpoort, in summer, with the slipway (overhaal) between the Boerenwetering and t für EUR 133.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 50.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Isaac Ouwater; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Amsterdam: The 't Spaarne canal in Slooterdijk with the ferry office and the tollgate on the left hand side im Mai 2003 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 164.450,00.
