Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sin titulo by Ignacio Iturria was auctioned at Christies in New York in June 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,922.36). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ignacio Iturria achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Avión azul en la bañera in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 35,250.00 (€ 41,691.31).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sin titulo von Ignacio Iturria im Juni 2015 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.375,00 (€ 3.922,36) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ignacio Iturria erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Avión azul en la bañera im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.250,00 (€ 41.691,31).
