This artwork by Ian Davenport achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2021. In the Contemporary Edition auction, the work Etched Lines: Thirty-Four, Thirty-Five And Thirty-Six sold for USD 21,250.00 (€ 18,095.89) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ian Davenport have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poured Lines: Dark Cobalt Study in March 2021 with an auction result of GBP 81,250.00 (€ 95,447.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ian Davenport erzielte im März 2021 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Edition wurde die Arbeit Etched Lines: Thirty-Four, Thirty-Five And Thirty-Six für USD 21.250,00 (€ 18.095,89) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ian Davenport auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poured Lines: Dark Cobalt Study im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 81.250,00 (€ 95.447,82).
