In September 2016 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Curated, which included the work Red And Blue by Howard Mehring. The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,000.00 (€ 22,245.95), 67% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Howard Mehring - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Solar, which sold at auction in March 2016 for USD 52,500.00 (€ 46,093.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 67 % übertroffen
Im September 2016 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Curated durch, in der auch die Arbeit Red And Blue von Howard Mehring zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.000,00 (€ 22.245,95) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Howard Mehring mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Solar beobachtet, die im März 2016 für USD 52.500,00 (€ 46.093,06) versteigert wurde.
