The result of USD 7,000.00 (€ 6,023.06) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 9,000.00. Admittedly, works by Howard Mehring have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Solar in March 2016 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 46,093.06).

Die Arbeit Cross Piece, 'Circa' 1960 von Howard Mehring kam im September 2018 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 7.000,00 (€ 6.023,06) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 7.000,00 – 9.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Howard Mehring auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Solar im März 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.500,00 (€ 46.093,06).
