Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sun Bath 2 by Hilo Chen was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,962.50 (€ 7,217.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hilo Chen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Beach 96 in October 2020 with an auction result of EUR 107,100.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sun Bath 2 von Hilo Chen wurde im September 2004 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.962,50 (€ 7.217,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hilo Chen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Beach 96 im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 107.100,00.
