Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Henry Edridge could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2010 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Althorp Attic Sale - Including the Spencer Carriages auction, the work Portrait of George Macartney, 1st Earl of Macartney, K.B. (1737-1806), full-length, wearing the Garter Star, a letter in high right hand changed hands for GBP 812.50 (€ 976.94) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Edridge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nôtre Dame And Pont Marie From The Pont du Jardin du Roi, Paris, France in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 10,200.00 (€ 15,147.32).
In der Auktion The Althorp Attic Sale - Including the Spencer Carriages wechselte die Arbeit Portrait of George Macartney, 1st Earl of Macartney, K.B.
