Despite a disappointment, a good price for Henry Charles Brewer
When the work A view of the Thames taken from the top of Tower Bridge by Henry Charles Brewer was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,705.58). Despite this disappointing result, A view of the Thames taken from the top of Tower Bridge is the most expensive artwork by Henry Charles Brewer that we have observed at auction so far.
