In August 2004 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work The Girlada Seville, 1910 by Henry Charles Brewer. Here, the upper estimate of AUD 3,500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for AUD 3,824.00 (€ 2,219.45). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henry Charles Brewer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A view of the Thames taken from the top of Tower Bridge, which sold at auction in September 2012 for GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,705.58).
