Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Distant View of Sierra Nevada by Henry Charles Brewer was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours auction at Christies in London in July 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 420.00 (€ 614.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Henry Charles Brewer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A view of the Thames taken from the top of Tower Bridge in September 2012 with an auction result of GBP 3,750.00 (€ 4,705.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Distant View of Sierra Nevada von Henry Charles Brewer wurde im Juli 2006 in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 420,00 (€ 614,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Charles Brewer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A view of the Thames taken from the top of Tower Bridge im September 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 4.705,58).
