This artwork by Beatrix Potter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2005. In the British and Continental Watercolours auction, the work Study of A Calf sold for GBP 744.00 (€ 1,102.65) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Beatrix Potter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gentleman Rabbit With Letter ("Benjamin Bunny") in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 70,850.00 (€ 87,377.73).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Beatrix Potter erzielte im Juni 2005 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours wurde die Arbeit Study of A Calf für GBP 744,00 (€ 1.102,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 400,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Beatrix Potter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gentleman Rabbit With Letter ("Benjamin Bunny") im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 70.850,00 (€ 87.377,73).
