In December 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction The Art of Illustration - From the Collection of Michael Winner, which included the work Gentleman Rabbit With Letter ("Benjamin Bunny") by Beatrix Potter. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 70,850.00 (€ 87,377.73), 42% above the upper estimate. With this result, Gentleman Rabbit With Letter ("Benjamin Bunny") is even the most expensive work of art by Beatrix Potter that we have observed at auctions so far.
