Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Preliminary Sketch For The Title Page of 'The Tale of Mrs Tiggy-Winkle', 1905: Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle At Her Washtub by Beatrix Potter was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours auction at Christies in London in July 2006. The price achieved of GBP 12,000.00 (€ 17,566.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Beatrix Potter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gentleman Rabbit With Letter ("Benjamin Bunny") in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 70,850.00 (€ 87,377.73).

Die Arbeit A Preliminary Sketch For The Title Page of 'The Tale of Mrs Tiggy-Winkle', 1905: Mrs. Tiggy-Winkle At Her Washtub von Beatrix Potter wurde im Juli 2006 in der Auktion British and Continental Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.000,00 (€ 17.566,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Beatrix Potter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gentleman Rabbit With Letter ("Benjamin Bunny") im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 70.850,00 (€ 87.377,73).
