Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2005 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours, which included the work Trollius asiaticus and arnebia echioides 'prophet flower' recto and Polemonium zepeus verso by Beatrix Potter. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,641.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Beatrix Potter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gentleman Rabbit With Letter ("Benjamin Bunny") in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 70,850.00 (€ 87,377.73).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Trollius asiaticus and arnebia echioides 'prophet flower' recto and Polemonium zepeus verso von Beatrix Potter zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.641,63) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Beatrix Potter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gentleman Rabbit With Letter ("Benjamin Bunny") im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 70.850,00 (€ 87.377,73).
