Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Peter Rabbit and Mr McGregor by Beatrix Potter was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2020. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 21,250.00 (€ 23,702.76). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Beatrix Potter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gentleman Rabbit With Letter ("Benjamin Bunny"), which sold at auction in December 2012 for GBP 70,850.00 (€ 87,377.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Peter Rabbit and Mr McGregor von Beatrix Potter kam im Juli 2020 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 21.250,00 (€ 23.702,76) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Beatrix Potter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Gentleman Rabbit With Letter ("Benjamin Bunny") beobachtet, die im Dezember 2012 für GBP 70.850,00 (€ 87.377,73) versteigert wurde.
