Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%

This artwork by Beatrix Potter achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2008. In the Children's & Illustrated Books & Original Illustrations auction, the work An incomplete set of eleven table mat illustrations from 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit' sold for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,220.75) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Beatrix Potter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Gentleman Rabbit With Letter ("Benjamin Bunny") in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 70,850.00 (€ 87,377.73).

Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen

Dieses Kunstwerk von Beatrix Potter erzielte im Dezember 2008 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Children's & Illustrated Books & Original Illustrations wurde die Arbeit An incomplete set of eleven table mat illustrations from 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit' für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.220,75) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Beatrix Potter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Gentleman Rabbit With Letter ("Benjamin Bunny") im Dezember 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 70.850,00 (€ 87.377,73).
