In September 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work Concubine Chair by Han Yajuan. The »bidding war« ended at USD 31,250.00 (€ 22,193.03), 42% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Han Yajuan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tribute To Marilyn, which sold at auction in February 2008 for GBP 38,900.00 (€ 50,879.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 42 % übertroffen
Im September 2008 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Concubine Chair von Han Yajuan zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 31.250,00 (€ 22.193,03) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Han Yajuan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tribute To Marilyn beobachtet, die im Februar 2008 für GBP 38.900,00 (€ 50.879,67) versteigert wurde.
