In March this year Bonhams held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Strangers from Hopiland by Gustave Baumann. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,200.00 (€ 9,381.90), 28% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gustave Baumann - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Processional, which sold at auction in March this year for USD 28,050.00 (€ 25,800.22).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Strangers from Hopiland von Gustave Baumann zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 10.200,00 (€ 9.381,90) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gustave Baumann mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Processional beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für USD 28.050,00 (€ 25.800,22) versteigert wurde.
