Auction result well in line with expectations
In March this year Bonhams held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Beginning of the Fiesta by Gustave Baumann. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 9,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,120.00 (€ 5,629.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gustave Baumann have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Processional in March this year with an auction result of USD 28,050.00 (€ 25,800.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Beginning of the Fiesta von Gustave Baumann zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 6.000,00 – 9.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 6.120,00 (€ 5.629,14) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gustave Baumann auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Processional im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.050,00 (€ 25.800,22).
