Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction Prints & Multiples, which included the work Tame Flowers; Wild Flowers 2 by Grant Wood. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,880.00 (€ 2,637.36) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grant Wood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study for "February" in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,058,500.00 (€ 760,471.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion Prints & Multiples durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tame Flowers; Wild Flowers 2 von Grant Wood zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.880,00 (€ 2.637,36) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grant Wood erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study for "February" im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.058.500,00 (€ 760.471,30).
