Auction result well in line with expectations

The work July Fifteenth by Grant Wood was auctioned at Christies in New York in November this year. It changed hands for a price of USD 2,772.00 (€ 2,541.25) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grant Wood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study for "February" in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,058,500.00 (€ 760,471.30).

Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen

Die Arbeit July Fifteenth von Grant Wood kam im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 2.772,00 (€ 2.541,25) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grant Wood erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study for "February" im Dezember 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.058.500,00 (€ 760.471,30).
