A top price for Grant Wood
This artwork by Grant Wood achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in December 2008. In the Important American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Study for "February" sold for USD 1,058,500.00 (€ 760,471.30) - well above the upper estimate of USD 600,000.00. This high result makes Study for "February" the most expensive artwork by Grant Wood that we have observed at auctions so far.
