Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Honorary Degree by Grant Wood was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in January 2024. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,400.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,536.00 (€ 1,342.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grant Wood achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study for "February" in December 2008 with an auction result of USD 1,058,500.00 (€ 760,471.30).
