Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fantasy Study by Grace Hartigan was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May last year. The price achieved of USD 47,880.00 (€ 44,618.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grace Hartigan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Early November in May last year with an auction result of USD 1,380,000.00 (€ 1,285,993.85).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Fantasy Study von Grace Hartigan kam im Mai letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 47.880,00 (€ 44.618,40) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grace Hartigan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Early November im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.380.000,00 (€ 1.285.993,85).
