Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Escape With a Beer by Godwin Champs Namuyimba was sold in the Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in New York in November last year. The price achieved of USD 22,680.00 (€ 21,970.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Godwin Champs Namuyimba have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Connector in November 2021 with an auction result of HKD 1,323,000.00 (€ 147,104.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Escape With a Beer von Godwin Champs Namuyimba wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 22.680,00 (€ 21.970,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Godwin Champs Namuyimba auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Connector im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.323.000,00 (€ 147.104,19).
