Auction result well in line with expectations
The work White Square by Godwin Champs Namuyimba was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Phillips in London in October last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,678.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Godwin Champs Namuyimba achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Connector in November 2021 with an auction result of HKD 1,323,000.00 (€ 147,104.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit White Square von Godwin Champs Namuyimba wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Phillips in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.600,00 (€ 14.678,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Godwin Champs Namuyimba erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Connector im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.323.000,00 (€ 147.104,19).
