Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A classical capriccio with the Colosseum, Trajan's column and the Farnese Hercules, with the Philosopher Diogenes and other figures in the foreground by Giovanni Paolo Panini was sold in the Ancient to Modern Art from the Mougins Museum of Classical Art, Part I auction at Christies in London in December this year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 300,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 302,400.00 (€ 348,353.21). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Paolo Panini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rome, The Pantheon, A View Of The Interior Towards The Piazza Della Rotonda in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,317,000.00 (€ 4,709,477.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A classical capriccio with the Colosseum, Trajan's column and the Farnese Hercules, with the Philosopher Diogenes and other figures in the foreground von Giovanni Paolo Panini wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion Ancient to Modern Art from the Mougins Museum of Classical Art, Part I bei Christies in London versteigert.
