Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Giovanni Paolo Panini could be acquired at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters auction, the work A capriccio of Roman ruins with the Pantheon, the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina, the statue of Marcus Aurelius, Trajan's Column, the Temple of Fortuna Virilis and the Temple of Vesta in Tivoli changed hands for USD 113,400.00 (€ 106,438.90) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 150,000.00 – 250,000.0 Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giovanni Paolo Panini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rome, The Pantheon, A View Of The Interior Towards The Piazza Della Rotonda in January 2015 with an auction result of USD 5,317,000.00 (€ 4,709,477.41).
In der Auktion Old Masters wechselte die Arbeit A capriccio of Roman ruins with the Pantheon, the Temple of Antoninus and Faustina, the statue of Marcus Aurelius, Trajan's Column, the Temple of Fortuna Virilis and the Temple of Vesta in Tivoli für USD 113.400,00 (€ 106.438,90) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00.
